Bellezza. Fiori. : How did you meet your husband?
BFF: This is always my favorite question! We met on Tinder in college.
Bellezza. Fiori. : Tell us a little bit about your story together, (how long you’ve been with each other, how did he propose, what do you love most about your husband, anything unique to you as a couple)!
BFF: We have been together for about 4 1/2 years!
His proposal was actually his back up plan. I guessed his original plan (proposing at his family 4th of July picnic). Goes to show how well we know we know each other :) .
So he woke up one day and decided it was going to be that day when we went golfing. Golf has always been a BIG part of Donny’s life!
We went golfing at Olde Stonewall Golf Club and on the 16th hole, with the most gorgeous view of the course he proposed! He went to tee up my ball and completely caught me off guard!
He had brought my parents in from out of town and were hiding behind me in the woods.
It’s a big accomplishment to surprise me so we are both shocked he was able to pull it off. It will probably be the first and last time that will happen!
Bellezza. Fiori. : What is your favorite thing to do together in your free time?
BFF: We loving spending time outdoors! (ie. swimming, golfing, playing with our 2 dogs). We have both learned new things from each other.
I had never been skiing or ice skating before I met Donny and he had never seen a play or experienced a musical.
Bellezza. Fiori. : How did you decide what time of year, theme, and colors you wanted for your wedding day? What did you decide to go with?
BFF: With our engagement at the end of June 2017. We knew we wanted a summer wedding but early summer, we felt, wasn’t enough time to pull it all together.
We went with August before everyone went back to school (my mom is a teacher and we both have siblings in school). I had found a picture of bridesmaids dresses on Pinterest. All the dresses were different styles and shades of blush, champagne, and rose gold.
I immediately fell in love with it! He wanted to pick his suit and went with a muted royal blue suit. the color combination was the perfect balance of dark and light colors to really make it feel summer-y.
Since we got engaged on a golf course & got married on a golf course, i felt we needed a touch of golf in our theme.
It was present (in the boutonnieres, and decor), but not overpowering! Just the perfect subtle hint.
Bellezza. Fiori. : What was your most memorable detail of your big day?
BFF: The most memorable detail of our day was seeing a vision in my head really come to life exactly as I pictured it! The BF team, as well as all of my vendors, did such an amazing job reading my mind and bringing it all to life. It was really their attention to detail that really made our day memorable!
Bellezza. Fiori. : What influenced you the most in your wedding planning process, (your inspiration, ideas, choosing venues, etc.)?
BFF: Pinterest is really a brides best friend! I used The Knot quite a bit too to help find and choose vendors. The Knot is how I found out BF (as well as most of my vendors)
Bellezza. Fiori. : What advice do you have for future brides looking to start planning their big day?
BFF: Honestly, expect to go over budget. Theres so many hidden costs to a wedding that you wouldn’t think about. Postage is expensive!!! Alterations, tips, stationary, as well as all the outfits for bridal showers, bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinner etc.
Bellezza. Fiori. : If you could relive any moment of that big day, what would it be?
BFF: The quiet moments Donny and I had together were perfect!
We did a first look and did some photos of just us during cocktail hour. It gave us time to breathe all the stress away and take a couple minutes to just be husband and wife together before going back to the party and being hosts.
Bellezza. Fiori. : Did you go on a honeymoon, if so where?
BFF: We went to St. Lucia. We stayed at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian. Another piece of advice! Take a day (if not 2) to regroup and recover before leaving for your honeymoon. You’ll thank me later :)
Bellezza. Fiori. : What other vendors did you use? Please list contact info. for each vendor so other brides to check them out too!
